The 39-meter-high observation tower on the Grünberg in Gmunden (Upper Austria) is the highlight of the Salzkammergut treetop walk. The tower, made almost entirely of wood, offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Traunsee lake, the Traunstein mountain, and the Dachstein massif via an accessible ramp. Action fans can use the 75-meter-long tunnel slide for the descent.

The Röserlsteig is the steepest path up the Grünberg. At the end, a fantastic view of the observation tower is well worth the effort.

It's best to drive to the Grünbergalm inn, enjoy a refreshing rest, and then continue on foot along the treetop path until you reach the observation tower.

A path leads directly around the lake. However, you should definitely stay on the paths because the surrounding area is very marshy

Great view of the Traunstein and the surrounding area. If you walk quickly, you can reach the summit in 1 hour. The path from the summit to the right further down is partly overgrown but recognizable (waterproof shoes are an advantage if you are out and about in the morning...wet, tall grass)
