At this junction you come to the G'hackten or via the Melkboden to the Voisthalerhütte. The cross stands as a memorial to a mountain accident in 1988

May 25, 2024: We wanted to climb the Fölzstein today. We discovered the circular hiking trail via the Stoamandlweg. As an inexperienced hiker, this path is very dangerous. There are always exposed rocks to pass. Not to mention that the path is not signposted. We then used the path from the Fölzkogel to the Grasserhütte as a descent, which had slipped over the winter. It was quite difficult to find an alternative path due to the slope. We had to keep passing snow fields. The terrain was sloping in this area. I wouldn't do this hike again at the moment. A very high level of sure-footedness is required.

The incredible view is the true reward for the climb. If the visibility is good, you can see the Zirbitzkogel (border with Carinthia). Ötscher, Hochkar, Großer Priel, Hochtor, Eisenerzer Reichenstein and many more show themselves from their best side.

A refuge of the Austrian Alpine Club together with the Voisthaler Alpine Club. The Fleischer bivouac box is an unlocked emergency room on the Hochschwab plateau without beds or water. I always found sleeping bags inside on both of my visits. The bivouac is at the upper end of the G'hackerten.

The crossroads towards Sackwiesensee or towards Tragöß via Platscherboden. Not managed, but nice to see how the buildings develop, are used or fall into disrepair
