I hiked past here and absolutely had to stop in. I couldn't just walk past the sign "The best coffee in Burgenland". It had to be tested. And lo and behold, it tasted good. And of course, I wanted to know more. The owner of the hotel actually roasts the beans himself. And you can taste it. But... just try it yourself :)

The castle is certainly not comparable to Schönbrunn & Co, but it certainly has a historical touch. Even if a university and the dental association have set up shop here. However, a little more care would still do the inner courtyard good. Nevertheless: Beautiful photo spot. You will also find the "Anna Fountain" here on the grounds.

The core of the castle goes back to a medieval defense tower and was expanded into a manor house in the 16th century under the barons of Königsberg. It was first mentioned in writing in 1591 under the name Künigsperghausen. A coat of arms of the Königsberg family bears the year 1626. The east wing with the arcades and the portico was added in the 18th century under the Batthyány counts, who owned the castle from 1644 to 1918. After that, the castle housed a farming school and a hotel. After extensive renovation work, a health academy was housed here in 2003. The castle used to have a spacious park with a pond and an attached nursery. The castle is currently used by the Burgenland Dental Association and the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.
