Small village on Humber. Nice quite country roads to get there. Close by nature reserves. Good for sea fishing and views of the Humber Estuary. Fort Paull is also near by

Can I take my dog on the walking routes in Paull?

Most trails around Paull are dog-friendly, but it's important to keep your dog under control, especially in the Paull Holme Strays Nature Reserve. The reserve is home to sensitive bird populations and grazing livestock, so please adhere to local signage and keep dogs on a lead where required.

What are the trail conditions like, especially near the estuary?

The paths are generally flat and easy to walk. However, trails along the Humber Estuary and through the nature reserve can become muddy, particularly after rain. Where is the best place for bird watching while hiking?

The Paull Holme Strays Nature Reserve is the premier location for bird watching. The permissive footpaths through its wetlands and grasslands offer fantastic opportunities to see wading birds like golden plover, lapwing, and curlew, especially in winter. Birds of prey such as peregrine falcons and marsh harriers are also frequently spotted.

Where can I park to start a hike?

There is a car park available for the Lighthouse Trail at Paull Holme Strays, located off Thorngumbald Road. This is a convenient starting point for several walks along the estuary. For routes starting in Hedon or Paull village, on-street parking is generally available, but be sure to check for any local restrictions.

What is the landscape like on a typical Paull hike?
