Great to do when itβs been wet as mostly on very quiet roads/tarmac. A good short walk with great views

Like parts of the route 21 around here, itβs a bit tricky for a road bike tour (steep and gravelly), but Iβd love to return to come mountain/gravel biking with the kids. As you rejoin the road, this is a beautiful peaceful spot with seats if you donβt mind the M25 below π

Yep a great descent we did it in Autumn so the flint was hidden underneath the leaves

On top of Gravelly Hill is a fantastic view point looking south towards the High Weald AONB. This is a wonderful green space, with plenty of benches, open grass and lined by trees. As you look out from the viewpoint, you're looking across ancient land with earthworks, motte & bailey castles, hillforts and Roman Roads. The perfect view for a sandwich stop.

Fun to ride down and a decent surface to ride up. Gets quite rough and bouncy towards the bottom but still ok at speed. Watch out for walkers. Take the right fork halfway down to continue on National Cycle Route 21.

Mostly firm surfaced bridleway (muddy but rideable when wet). Goes through the woods on part of the Greensand Way then crosses Brick Kiln Lane and goes through the golf course

Dirt single track bridleways and footpaths through the woods.
