Cycling Route 18 passes through Victoria Park and the Watercress Fields on its way out to rural Kent. A flat and well surfaced path, it is ideal for families or as the start of a longer route from Ashford. There is often a coffee van near the fountain.

Stocked with fish for coarse fishing, Singleton Lake was created when the Singleton Estate was built in the 1980s. It is now home to a variety of wildlife and makes up part of the Ashford Green Corridor.

Part of Ashford's Green Corridor which stretches along the Great Stour river. Victoria Park and the adjacent Watercress Fields make great running venues close to the town. There are flat grassy areas and woodland paths.

Dating back to the 13th century with perhaps hints of an earlier church, St Mary's lies in the little village of Westwell. The exterior of the church is nice enough but it's the interior that truly blows you away. Unlike most village churches, St Mary's has stunning pillars inside and a triple arch trefoil headed screen. Find wonderful stained glass windows, a vaulted ceiling and a 12th century font inside too.

Entrance to Eastwell Manor. Although locked, this impressive guard house is the opening to eastwell manor. You can still enter the grounds through other gates

Inside this beautiful old pub hides a modern and airy gastropub with great food and drink. I recommend the beetroot, apple and dill burger for veggies though their beef burger does look pretty tempting even as a vegetarian. They're open from 11 am until late and are perfect for a refill after a long walk
