A large area of woodland and scrub with various trails to explore. Much of the wood is coppice, though occasionally you might find a defiant oak or beech standing proud. 300 acres (121 ha) of the wood is a military training area and is signposted as such. No live ammunition is used but the site is sometimes used in helicopter landing exercises.
