Great cycle path along the tracks, a must for railway and steam train enthusiasts. The cycle path is gravelled, there is a fence between the tracks and the cycle path. It is quite narrow, so you have to stop if there is oncoming traffic. During our visit at the end of July 2026, thorny branches had grown over the path in a few places, so we had to stop to get past them. We parked the car in Alysham, cycled to Wroxham, left the bikes there, took the train back and picked up the bikes with the car. A great excursion!

Really nice and easy path that follows the entire Bure Valley Railway line between Aylsham and Wroxham. You can take the train one way and walk the other and there are some great points to turn off and explore especially around the Oxnead area where you can follow the river and rejoin the path later on.

Really nice town with pubs by the river and walsk both ways along the river. Can be busy in the Summer months but with multiple Pubs, restaurants and cafes and a village shop there should be room somewhere.
