The best MTB trails around Weikersdorf am Steinfelde

The Waldandacht in the Wiener Neustadt district is a popular place of worship and a favorite excursion destination in the Föhrenwald near Bad Fischau-Brunn. Originally erected in 1908 by the eye-diseased stonemason Ludwig Peham as a place of thanks in a rock grotto, it houses a statue of Mary, a stone cross, and numerous saint images. Today, the quietly located grotto serves as a spiritual resting place for hikers and as a venue for regular outdoor masses, such as the annual mountain mass.

The historic Fischau Thermal Baths in Bad Fischau-Brunn are characterized by their two green-bordered, protected stone pools, which are fed by natural thermal water with a temperature of around 19 °C. Its origins date back to Roman times, and the facility was expanded in the 19th century into an elegant summer resort for Viennese celebrities. Today, in addition to the nostalgic swimming experience in summer, the baths also offer year-round sauna and bathing fun in the heart of the thermal region.

The Kaiserstein is a historical monument on the Blumberg in Bad Fischau-Brunn in the Wiener Neustadt district. It was erected in 1898 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I in the form of a four-meter-high obelisk. Today, the freely accessible viewpoint on the hill serves as a popular excursion destination with a wide view over the Wiener Neustädter Steinfeld.

The Kaiserstein stands at the Blumberg viewpoint above Bad Fischau-Brunn and was erected in 1898 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Directly next to it, there is a beautiful view over Bad Fischau-Brunn and the southern Vienna Basin. Thus, the spot combines a historical memorial stone with a rewarding vantage point along the hiking route.

Directly in front of the Scheimhitt’n hut, there is a distinctive boulder in the meadow right next to the path. Due to its exposed location, it is easily recognizable when approaching the hut. It forms a striking landmark and a beautiful photo opportunity.

A small, quaint shelter in the middle of the forest, which is well suited for a short rest. The simple hut is located quietly and somewhat secluded directly on the route and offers at least some shelter in bad weather.

Steep ascent from Markt Piesting to Dreistetten, at the upper end there is a rest area with a beautiful view.

Since the Christian symbol of the cross not only stands for the death of Jesus, but is also a sign of his resurrection, which has also been promised to us, a little spiritual rest at this crucifix, lovingly adorned with some interesting details, perhaps offers „a break of joy… which we can fill daily with the gaze upon the manger and the cross, upon hope and salvation.“
