The name Preston Capes is derived partly from Preosta-tun (Anglo-Saxon for the priests enclosure). Some lovely Northamptonshire houses as you ascend. More on the village https://www.prestoncapes.org.uk/

....an honour shared with The Red Lion at Hellidon, both a lofty 172m by my reckoning

Cracking cafe in the middle of Brackley, set in - you guessed it - an old fire station. Good coffee, bike spaces and friendly staff.

A very nice stretch of road to ride your push bike on. Whether you're doing efforts, or just riding for the scenery, it's nice and quiet.

Nice spot to stop for a coffee and a cake overlooking the village green. If you fancy something savoury the pasties and sausage rolls are readily available
