This small chapel is located on a hill between Völkersweiler and Gossersweiler-Stein and at the end of a 14-station Way of the Cross. It is also called the "Jergen Chapel." "During the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714), Georg Glaser of Gossersweiler vowed to build a chapel in his namesake's honor, if he survived. To obtain the bishop's permission, he bequeathed a three-acre field to the chapel and donated a chasuble and a chalice. The rent was to be used to maintain the chapel. In 1722, the episcopal authorities granted building permission, and a year later, the chapel stood on the Wingertsberg. [...] Despite great poverty, donors were continually found to provide for the furnishings, such as the neoclassical altar. [...] The statues of the Virgin Mary and St. George were stolen in a burglary in 1970. Today, the chapel is maintained by citizens of Völkersweiler and Gossersweiler Stein." - Source (quoted verbatim): https://www.heilige-elisabeth-annweiler.de/fileadmin/user_upload/1-6-1/Download/Kirchenf%C3%BChrer/Kirchenf%C3%BChrer_Pfarrei_Annweiler.pdf
