December 11, 2025, Bautarsteinar standing stones

Bautasteiner is an ancient site with seven standing stones. It is dated from the Iron Age but has been reconstructed by Jan Petersen in 1952. Only one of the seven stones was in it’s original location when it was registered in 1919.

Stefan's tip is great! Because of the early departure time, I can recommend the campsite just 800m from the pier.

Beautiful view. Can be very slippery when it rains, good tread is helpful. Keep your distance from the edge, sudden gusts of wind possible!
