East Bank of the Ticino - The Paladella dam was built after 1250, located in Tornavento, it marked the origin of the Naviglio Grande and was made of immersed granite slabs that divided the Ticino river into two branches, separating its waters. Originally, it was a palisade that deteriorated with each flood of the river. The main part of the dam, called "spur", juts out into the river for 280 meters using granite blocks, dividing the waters and creating the main channel of the Naviglio. A part of the water, called "mouth of Pavia", was left free to allow navigation towards Pavia and allow the development of the economies of the surrounding territories.

Passage from Piedmont to Lombardy, for the attack on the paths of the Ticino Lombardo Park! The cycle/pedestrian walkway is convenient (the road part is narrow and very dangerous! Especially for the numerous trucks...).
