The building was built in the period between 1775 and 1805 - by Lombard workers directed by the Piedmontese architect Carlo Valino - at the behest of Don Antonio Manca Amat, nephew of Diego to whom he owed the title of Marquis of Mores and who in 1775 had fief of the island of Asinara and the title of duke.
