The castle was a two-part complex, surrounded by wide moats. From the main castle located to the north, relics of the mighty keep up to 100 meters high are preserved. The walls are over three meters thick. After a depression, the large walled outer bailey with a diameter of 50 meters follows to the south, whose walls are largely preserved. The castle was heavily damaged during the Thirty Years' War and in the years 1716 and 1717. Nevertheless, the castle was inhabited until 1750.

Anyone who comes here for the view will be very disappointed. The trees don't allow any view. They must have forgotten that trees grow when they put this little tower here. It would have to be 10 m higher if you want to look over the trees. But the weeping beech 50m further on is huge and very interesting if you look inside.
