The 32-meter-high Red Tower, a former defense and watchtower, is a remnant of the Pulsnitz city gate and has 117 steps. As the name suggests, this street leads to the town of Pulsnitz, 12 km away. City gates were particularly vulnerable in times of war. Therefore, the defenders attempted to protect them with additional walls and towers. In an emergency, many archers could take up positions on it. The tower also served as a municipal prison for the higher ranks. The city bailiffs imprisoned criminals from the lower classes in the town hall prison. The key to the Red Tower is available at the Kamenz Information Center (please note opening hours): Admission: €1 per person Concessions: €0.50 Source: https://www.kamenz.de/aussichts-tuerme.html

The arms are straight with rounded corners. The shaft is trapezoidally widened with a barely recognizable linear, indented depiction of a cutting or stabbing weapon (blade).
