Super fun single track on the surface of the water, surrounded by greenery, be careful that after the rain you may find mud 🤘🏻

A narrow and picturesque route along a historic artificial canal, parallel to the Astico River, protected by a metal balustrade: accessible on foot or by gravel/mountain bike. The canal, nearly 3 km long, begins at the 'Rozzola' hydroelectric power plant in Chiuppano. In the 'Isolon' area, it disappears into a 300 m underground tunnel, then reappears and continues to the 'Rossi' hydroelectric power plant in Calvene. This highlight is the final segment, from the tunnel to the Rossi power plant. The canal is part of a historic and complex system for generating electricity from the Astico River, still in use today. It was initially commissioned by industrialist Alessandro Rossi, between the 19th and 20th centuries, to power the nearby Rossi cotton mill in Chiuppano and—via a 30 km network—also his buildings in Vicenza... a testament to daring engineering archaeology! https://www.viverecalvene.it/2022/04/14/le-centrali-idroelettriche-di-calvene/

The Rossi family's cotton mill ("CotoRossi"), active since 1893, was an industrial reality which at full capacity saw hundreds of people employed, mainly women. It was served by the railway coming from Schio and the underlying Rozzola hydroelectric power station which, exploiting the waters of the Astico river, moved the looms. A beautiful example of industrial archaeology, now in ruins: currently the beautiful entrance door, the skeleton of the walls and the caretaker's house remain of the building.

Vaulted tunnel of about ten meters, to protect the source of the aqueduct. The old aqueducts of Chiuppano were built around 1860, to bring water from the Bregònze springs to the town's fountains, via kilometers of pipes. Currently this aqueduct is no longer connected to the water network, although it still works. https://www.paroleaconfine.it/festival-vietato-ai-maggiori/bellamente-in-vista-acque-sapienti/
