The marketplace with St. George's Church, St. Ludwig's Chapel, and a fountain forms the center of the old town of Wachenheim. The St. George town church does not have a uniform architectural style and has undergone many changes and destructions throughout the city's eventful history. Originally built as a single-nave church, it received a late Gothic choir in the 14th century. From 1508 to 1574, it served as the monastery church of the destroyed Limburg Abbey. After the Reformation, it was assigned to the Protestants, who removed the existing interior furnishings. Burned down in the Wars of Reunification in 1674 and 1689, the church remained a ruin until 1708. Then, the nave was allocated to the Protestants and the choir to the newly established Catholic parish. The tower became common property. In the years 1711/13, the church was rebuilt into its current form with a raised tower and a late Baroque dome. Since 1715, a wall has separated the areas of both denominations. The choir, used as a Catholic church, received an additional small choir on the east side in 1721. The high altar and three Baroque side altars are works by local artists from the 18th century. After the construction of the Edith Stein Church, the old building is now rarely used. The Protestant nave was rebuilt in 1860/61 and expanded, renovated, and equipped with wooden galleries in 1905/07. https://www.pfalz.de/de/sehenswuerdigkeit/simultankirche-st-georg

"[This almond tree] takes its name from the Jesuitengarten vineyard there, where Jesuit monasteries owned land from the 18th century onwards. [...] The tree was just 1 meter tall when Peter Spindler from the Lindenhof winery in Forst planted it in 1975. After half a century, the Jesuit almond tree is about ten times as tall, and its trunk boasts a proud circumference of over two meters." The Forst tree stands "as a living testament to traditional Palatinate almonds. These varieties bloom more or less white and show at most a faint pink. [...] The Forst almond tree is notable for its pronounced left-handed growth. [...] Such spirally wound growth forms make trees resilient against the stresses of storms or snow."
