One of the most beautiful coasts in Sicily. The access road is an exciting gravel road. The last few meters have to be covered on foot. It is best to pack sturdy shoes.

An old house in danger of collapse on Punta Bianca. It was a building used by the Guardia di Finanza to fight smuggling.

The terrain is steep and slippery in places. I recommend sturdy shoes even if you are "just" going to the beach. There is hardly any shade.

Wooden tower presumably used for fire control. It is located about 280 meters above sea level, not far from Sommatino.

The Chiaramontano Castle of Montechiaro is the only one that overlooks the sea. All the other Chiaramonte castles are in the internal areas of Sicily. Its beauty is moving and the noise under the cliff is poignant.

The construction of this castle dates back to the fourteenth century. It stands in a dominant and strategic position, on top of a rocky ridge near the sea.
