The history of the church dates back to the 8th century. According to tradition, Saint Magnus is said to have established a prayer cell here. Several predecessor buildings already stood on the site of the present church. The present parish church was built between 1906 and 1908 according to the plans of the architect Ferdinand Schildhauer in the Neo-Baroque style with a richly decorated interior in the Neo-Rococo style. The striking church tower dates back to 1748 and is therefore significantly older than the current church building.

At Walder Käskuche you can enjoy delicious food and drinks from the small menu. There are seating options inside on two levels, as well as outside on the terrace with a view of the Nesselwanger Alpspitz and Reuterwanne. Integrated is the in-house brewery, a show cheese dairy and a small farm shop, which primarily offers its own cheese. In front of the Käskuche, cyclists will find a small service point with tools and a charging station for e-bikes. The Walder Käskuche is part of the neighboring Berghof Babel with a guesthouse, family apartments and hotel rooms, with conference facilities and a restaurant, as well as its own agriculture. The animals in the stables can also be visited by guests of the Käskuche. Tobias Babel was incidentally named Germany's Farmer of the Year in 2024, as he convinced the jury with his sustainability concept for the farm. In addition to Tobias, Michael is the chef and Simon is responsible for the cheese dairy at Babelhof.
