There has been a major hydraulic works in these parts and along this way you encounter, The Corno stream, the main watercourse of the municipality of Rive d'Arcano. Downstream of the inhabited area of Farla, the Ledra-Tagliamento canal flows into the Corno stream, and the two watercourses continue united as far as the hydraulic node in the locality of San Mauro in Rive d’Arcano. The stretch of the route that crosses the Rive d’Arcano area has always been affected by flooding phenomena following heavy rains, which caused considerable inconvenience to the community. After 1930, therefore, it was decided to make modifications to the route to avert this problem, but all the proposed projects did not develop until 1991 when the Consorzio di Bonifica Alto Friuli announced a competition for the drilling of a tunnel 5300 meters long and 5 meters in diameter, from Rive d’Arcano, San Mauro locality, to Aonedis to convey the excess water directly into the Tagliamento, with a flow rate of 100 cubic meters per second.
