"Permanent Parker" – A Concrete Sculpture with Cult Status What's a Manta without a spoiler? Exactly – broken. But this one doesn't need one. No fox tail, no rally stripes, and yet everyone recognizes it: Matthias Braun's "Permanent Parker" is a concrete homage to one of Germany's most iconic cult cars. A Concrete Monument to an Automotive Legend 1.67 m wide, 1.33 m high, and 4.45 m long – in its dimensions, the "Permanent Parker" corresponds to a real Opel Manta B. Braun only got the weight wrong. While the original was relatively light at just over a ton, its concrete twin tips the scales at a hefty 13.5 tons. The Manta B quickly became more than just a car. It became a symbol of an entire generation, made it to the big screen, and rose to become a cult object of the 80s. Those who didn't see it on the street saw it in the cinema: "Manta, Manta" – with Til Schweiger as the legendary "Berti," which ultimately made the Manta a crowd favorite. Now even available in a sequel.
