Castle church above the Kalverienberg in Uttendorf. The church is locked, but the wonderful distant view from the Schlossberg of the Mattig Valley and the Alps is worth the little detour.

Quaint restaurant with a good kitchen. There is home-brewed beer, the Uttendorfer beer, which tastes very delicious. The portions are big and the price is cheap. A trip here is worthwhile in any case. Friendliness is very important here. Brewery Vitzthum GmbH and Co. KG, Uttendorf 25, 5261 Uttendorf Tel. +43 (0) 7724/25 08 www.uttendorf-bier.com

Beautiful castle church above the Kalverienberg in Uttendorf. 1,600 years ago, the first chapel was built on the Schlossberg by the Romans. After repeated destruction around 1400 rebuilt. In 1713 then a renewal took place and 1717-1718 an enlargement and the new building of the tower. In 1998, a renovation of the exterior facade was last made. It is worth to visit the church, especially from the Schlossberg a beautiful panoramic view of the Alps. It is better in advance to inquire when the church has opened.
