The monastery church is the only remaining building of the Franciscan monastery founded in 1228. With its tall, slender pillars, it is a testament to medieval architecture and definitely worth a visit. Oschatz Monastery Church Information: It was built between 1246 and 1248 and consecrated to the Virgin Mary on the Sunday before St. John's Day in 1248.
