This boundary stone on the Hainichlandweg, not far from the Hassenburg, commemorates the course of the former border between the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha (HSG) and the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach (SWE). The adjacent property Probsteizella belonged to the rule of Duke Ernst August of SWE. After 1922, Probsteizella was assigned to the former Hopffgarten court village of Frankenroda.
