Since the 1990s, the site of a former Roman camp near Nauheim has been archaeologically investigated. Only in 2023 were 46 graves examined in detail. The now considerably faded information boards date from 2005. The same applies to the stone relief by the Nauheim artist Wigbert Faber, which depicts a Roman soldier with a horse. https://www.heimatmuseum-nauheim.de/roemer/roemer3.htm https://www.heimatmuseum-nauheim.de/roemer/roemer5.htm https://denkmal.hessen.de/presse/auf-den-spuren-der-ersten-roemischen-siedler

As stated in the Historical Groß-Gerau zoning ordinance: The preservation and renewal of the cityscape in the historic center of Groß-Gerau is an urban planning, cultural, and social concern of high importance and is in the public interest. The cityscape that has grown over centuries requires, for contemporary further development, consideration of the historical building stock, of locally typical design features, and of traditional design rules that have shaped and should continue to shape the unique character and atmosphere of this place.
