The chapel was built by farmer Gregor Lampl (1834-1908) from Pfaffenhofen. Because he was able to live for many years after a leg amputation, he donated this chapel as a token of gratitude. The builder's crutch remained in it for many years after his death. The beautiful memorial plaques placed next to the chapel commemorate Gregor Lampl and two priests from his family:
