May 19, 2025, Birdwatching Station in Richard A. Rutkowski Park

You can't ride a bike there, but still well worth visiting. There are a few bird watching stations, I've seen a couple of herons and a turtle!

Pick up a few extra miles here on your way to or from the Bayonne Bridge β€” this is a weird, quiet pier with lots of construction going on, but the (somewhat bit bumpy) road will usually be all yours. The marsh to your south is full of seabirds and herons (Black- and Yellow-crowned night Herons, Egrets, Oystercatchers, Loons, among others), and at the end is the Teardrop Memorial and a skyline view.

Little detour here off of JFK Blvd for a quick 1.5 mi loop and nice views of the river.
