July 24, 2026, The Anchor Bar and Grill

We hoped that we could find a public park in Madison Lake with a shaded picnic table but the only public park we could find in Madison Lake was a small children's playground with two benches and no shade. So we settled for the Anchor Bar and Grill, located right on the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail, which for the price of a beer, provided shaded seating.

This trailhead has public restrooms, plenty of parking, a shaded picnic table, and a water faucet.

These sites bikers can use if they goto the office to register first. It's usually pretty buggy back in there, but a nice rest point if the bugs aren't too bad. Also a log shelter if it's raining.

Nice place to stop right along the trail. Good walleye sandwich, nice outside seating.

Nothing much to do here, but it is cute and has some former business buildings that people are using to display stuff.

Looks like a fun place to go paddle boarding and kayaking in what I'm guessing is an old quarry.
