The tall, slender, and unplastered round tower, made of natural stone blocks with loopholes, is located in the northeast corner of Uffenheim behind the town hall. In addition to its defensive function, it also served as a dungeon for delinquent citizens, hence its name "Citizens' Tower." Prisoners sentenced to minor offenses in the tower enjoyed the privilege of being cared for by their families. https://www.uffenheim.de/erleben/tourismus/rundgang-historische-bauwerke/23-buergertum
