The fort was completed in 1914, after the outbreak of World War I, on the basis of an earlier fortification. It was built on a pentagonal plan, with barracks in the neck section on the left side of the axis, and an ammunition depot on the right. Infantry positions were placed around the entire perimeter of the rampart, secured by a stone breastwork.

The Przełom Hołubli nature reserve is located in the Przemyśl Foothills Landscape Park. The reserve was established in 1996 in order to preserve, for scientific, educational and landscape reasons, a picturesque fragment of the gorge valley of the Hołubla stream and an oak-beech forest with a linden tree. There are two nature trails within the reserve and the so-called "Forest Classrooms" - educational places with shelters and benches.
