The small cemetery is a good place for a short, contemplative break to clear your head. Surrounded by a fieldstone wall and a mighty circle of linden trees, the cemetery of the Siebeneichen parish lies idyllically right on the edge of the village, offering a sweeping view across the fields. The large, old farmers' graves with their boxwood hedges are a striking feature at the entrance. In the various sections of the cemetery, there are garden-style graves as well as burial plots under grass (either with a flat headstone or with a standing headstone and a small planted area in front). To provide a place of remembrance for the bereaved, there is a "communal burial site" instead of anonymous burials: Both casket and urn burials can take place there without any maintenance required by the bereaved and without the cost of a headstone. A shared memorial stone, completed at the end of 2009, commemorates the deceased. https://www.kirche-ll.de/gemeinden/lauenburg/siebeneichen/kontakte/kontakte-details/friedhof-siebeneichen.html

This is the only ferry across the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It connects the communities of Siebeneichen and Fitzen. Even if you don't actually have to cross to the other side, the crossing is worth it for the experience alone. Especially since the ferry is free, but a donation is requested.
