Prof. Ryszard Kostecki Open-Air Museum and Beekeeping Museum, Poznańska Street 35, 62-020 Swarzędz The museum was established as a branch of the National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa in 1999 on the grounds of the beekeeping open-air museum, which had existed since 1963. The museum was founded by Prof. Ryszard Kostecki. The open-air museum is a unique collection of beehives in Europe, illustrating the history of beekeeping and beekeeping in Poland in an outdoor exhibition. In 1999, a museum exhibition on useful insects was opened in a former farm building. In 2002, the museum was named after Prof. Ryszard Kostecki – the creator of the open-air museum and the beehive collection, and a promoter of the history and tradition of beekeeping.
