Today we visited the tower and explored the accessible rooms. The ground floor doors were closed, while the upstairs room with a nature photography exhibition was open, and of course, the viewing gallery on the second floor. For now, the view toward the expansive Carpathian panorama is unobstructed, but that will change. Right across the asphalt road between the tower and the panorama, in an area slightly higher than the base of the observation tower, someone has planted spruce trees along the road. 😮 The observation deck on the tower is 9 meters high. I was looking for information on how long it will take for the spruce trees to reach this height and block the view. The AI review provided the following answer: "A spruce tree needs about 15 to 30 years to reach 9 meters in height, as it grows on average 30 to 60 cm per year, with the fastest growth occurring between the 5th and 15th year of the tree's life. The exact time depends on the spruce species, soil conditions, sunlight, and care." WW

Full name of the monument: "To those who gave their lives to Poland 1939-1989". The monument was rebuilt after the end of the socialist system in Poland, supplementing the brick base with a stylized sculpture made of metal and expanding the list of victims to include the period of the so-called People's Republic of Poland. During this period (1944-1989), the socialist authorities proclaimed slogans of progress, equal rights, and the power of the working people of cities and villages, and quietly tortured and murdered their opponents who did not agree to the subordination of Poland to the Soviet Union, deprivation of private property, and harassment of the Church. Aleksander grows in the area of a former river floodplain - a type of forest that belongs to endangered plant communities in Poland. Aleksander is one of 10 mighty trees that have survived to this day, despite many attempts to cut them down. These trees remember the times when famous Poles, such as Aleksander Fredro, Wincenty Pol, or Seweryn Goszczyński, used to visit here. On the initiative of the Cultural Association "Dębina" in 1999, several oaks were conserved, and in 2000, the Municipal Council recognized 10 old trees, including Aleksander, as natural monuments. Also on the initiative of "Dębina" in 2003, several trees were given names. The Aleksander oak refers to the playwright Aleksander Fredro (his sister married Count Jabłonowski, the owner of the Krościenko manor in the 19th century). Fredro used to visit her. Perhaps the idea for "Zemsta" (The Revenge) was born under the oak tree bearing his name. Source and more: http://www.debina.webd.pl/dab_aleksander.html
