After the great city fire of 1457, construction began on a brick, three-nave church in the Gothic style. This construction, interrupted by subsequent fires (including one in 1478), lasted until the first half of the 16th century (around 1552). The church was built on a hill, integrated into the city's defensive walls. Reconstructions after the fires (18th century): The church was repeatedly destroyed. A fire in 1759 (started by Russian troops) caused significant damage. The reconstruction, during which the church gained Baroque domes on the towers and Baroque interior furnishings (which survive to this day), was completed in 1763.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ługi is a historic church with a unique character, located in the picturesque village of Ługi in Lower Silesia. Built in 1788 as an Evangelical church, it retains its hall layout and brick structure in the shape of a Latin cross. Distinctive architectural elements include: - a gable roof covered with sheet metal, - a square tower with a domed spire topped with a cross, - semicircular windows set in rectangular panels, - cornices under the eaves that merge into string courses, - shallow projections on the side elevations. In front of the church stands a monument to those who died in World War I – a stone obelisk with Maltese crosses, set on a three-stage plinth. Currently, the temple serves as a branch church of the parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Korzeńsk and is the site of local religious ceremonies, including the indulgence in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated on August 15.

The castle was built in the 14th century by the princes of Oleśnica and Głogów, on the site of a former princely stronghold. In 1432 it was besieged by the Hussites, but was not captured. In 1520, the owner was the bishop of Wrocław, Jan Turzo, later it was in the hands of the princes of Legnica. Destroyed probably during the Thirty Years' War. In 1759, plundered by the Austrians, the northern wing with the chapel was demolished. In the 18th century, it was rebuilt into a baroque residence. The last reconstruction took place in 1924. The entrance portal with the Roman year of modernization MDCCCCXXIV dates from this period. The castle is surrounded by a park with monumental trees.

St. Catherine, mentioned in a document in 1302, was completed in its present form in the years 1457-1552 (after the fire of the previous one). Rebuilt in 1964-1965, it is an oriented, brick, three-nave, hall building, with a hexagonal end chancel, surrounded by an ambulatory and a wreath of chapels. The central nave in the chancel is slightly narrower and has a pillar on the axis that divides the two halves of the hexagon. The whole is covered with stellar vaults, and the western part is a modern ceiling from 1965. The western façade with a triangular gable is flanked by two unfinished towers in late Gothic forms. The defensive walls are the remains of the medieval city fortifications. Originally it was a wood and earth fortification with a palisade. In the 15th century, this fortification was replaced with a brick and stone wall 2 cubits wide and 12 cubits high. The walls were reinforced with watchtowers. There were four gates to the city: the western one called Głogowska, the eastern one called Poland, and two smaller ones: southern and northern. On the outer side of the walls, there was an additional earth rampart and a moat with bridges. At night, the bridges were raised, and during the day, the crossing was guarded by the townspeople who were obligated to guard duty and properly armed. After 1770, the partial liquidation of the defensive fortifications began. The moat was filled in and the earth embankment was leveled. In their place, gardens leased to the townspeople were created. In 1818 the tower at the Polish gate was pulled down, in 1828 the gate itself, and in 1851 the Głogów gate. The city walls were also gradually dismantled. In 1962, attempts were made to save the surviving fragments and the missing sections were reconstructed. Another conservation took place in the 90s. The current ramparts are an excellent history lesson for students about the Medieval Mountain. They continue to run in the place where they were originally erected, along Staromiejska Street.
