Andrzej
August 19, 2026, Cmentarz wojenny 1939 r.

The cemetery is the resting place of about 800 Polish soldiers of the "Poznań" Army and the "Pomorze" Army, who fell in September 1939, primarily between the 16th and 18th of September, during battles after the Battle of the Bzura River. Units of the 7th Greater Poland Uhlan Regiment and the 14th Jazłowiec Uhlan Regiment fought here, among others. After the battles on the Bzura River, Polish units attempted to break through the Kampinos Forest towards Warsaw. Very heavy fighting occurred in the Zamość, Górki, and Cisowy area. Many soldiers died right here.

Quite a bit of traffic. And a lot of locals with cars. How do locals who know a straight path through the forest drive? They press the gas pedal to the floor.

The Church of Saint Dorothy from 1569 in Cieksyn is a historic temple with a long history, located in the picturesque area of Mazovia. Its architecture combines elements of the Gothic and Baroque styles, and the interior delights with a beautiful altar and traditional polychromes.

The Nasielna River is a small, picturesque watercourse flowing through Mazovia, a tributary of the Wkra. It is characterized by a calm current and natural, often forested surroundings, which makes it attractive for nature lovers and kayaking. In the area you can see numerous species of water birds and admire charming, rural landscapes. Although the river is not wide, its clean waters and idyllic climate make it a great place for a short bike or hiking trip, especially for people who value peace and contact with nature.
