This stretch of trail to the south of Slievereagh provides enticing views of the distant Galtee Mountains. These trails are easily reached from Kilfinnane, a great base camp for hikes in the Ballyhoura Mountains. In fact, it's the highest town in County Limerick.

Kilfinane makes a great stop-over along the Ballyhoura Way, offering a choice of pubs and a restaurant/take-away. If you have time for exploration, there is a striking Anglo-Norman motte, built inside an earlier ringfort. The hill rises about 32 feet (10m) high.

A very beautiful church, magnificent on the outside, but rather modest on the inside. The roof structure is unusual and I liked it. Some of the stained glass windows are also very beautiful.

A green, tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. Numerous benches invite you to take a coffee break, there's a bit of art to admire, and a fantastic, huge playground if you have children with you.
