The current fountain is decorated with a more than two-meter metal statue of the Lord of the Mountains designed by J. Kirschner. In 2001, due to damage, it was replaced by a bronze replica. At the same time, the figure of Krakonoš is complemented by small statues of Permonians.

A castle from the 13th or 14th century once stood on the ledge, which was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau after 1547. Destroyed by the Swedes during the Thirty Years' War, the building fell into disrepair and was used as a salt store. In the 1850s, today's stately building, a school, was built on the foundations of the former castle. The Podkrkonoší Museum has been located here since 1927. Only a few rooms in the basement or cellar have been preserved from the former castle. https://www.ictrutnov.cz/en/museum-of-the-Krkonoše

Bridge over the Upa. After Trutnov got its own breakpoint with the construction of the railway in 1871, the Nádražní most (= station bridge) was built in 1884 as a stone arch bridge.

The Krakonošova kašna is located in the center of the Trutnov square. There has been a well here for many centuries. Until the beginning of the 17th century it was a wooden box well which, together with other wells and hand pumps in the city area, ensured the supply of drinking water until the first water pipes were built. The current Rübezahl fountain, designed by J. Kirschner, professor at the then Trautenau Realschule, has adorned the market square since 1892. Rübezahl, the lord of the mountains, is depicted here in a more traditional way as a figure over two meters tall surrounded by four gnomes.
