This place surrounded by rocky mountains is very windy. Pay attention here to the power of the local wind called the Bora. These splendid landscapes were the scene of filming locations for the Winnetou films. This series of films from the 1960s was very popular in Germany. You will find the stele in memory of the Apache hero by descending from the pass just after a bend. For information The role of Winnetou was held by a French actor called Pierre Brice.

The approach over the pass is quite adventurous, the path is mostly gravel and not very secure on the sides - but an experience. Unfortunately, from my point of view, a few labels are missing above that refer to the film scenes. The ascent to the summit takes about an hour, followed by the descent. Think of enough drinks and do not leave the (well signposted) paths. Adjacent there is the location of the film graves - see the highlight.
