A place that automatically reminds you of the three ??? and Rocky Beach with the restaurant Seahorse - Die Drei ??? and the pearl birds. Nice beach with an old wreck and seafood restaurant in the main town. Unfortunately difficult to get away with public transport, on weekends the bus only ran twice a day.

A lively, very sunny beach with nice little cafes and restaurants all around. But too lively for us, so we hiked on.

A beautiful wooden pier with a shipwreck at the end. From New Brighton State Beach (with a great campsite) you can walk along the beach along exclusive villas to the pier - but you should inquire about the tides beforehand. Very nice walk!

The Monterey Bay area is rich in marine life. On your walks, especially along the coast, you might spot harbor seals, sea lions, dolphins, and sea otters. During migration season (December to early February), you could even see whales. The SS Palo Alto shipwreck itself is an artificial reef teeming with mussels, sea stars, sea anemones, and rock crabs.
Absolutely! Beyond the trails, families can visit the Seacliff State Beach Visitor Center, which features exhibits on the park's history, marine fossil beds, and an aquarium with a touch tank.
