The Cordoba Gate is one of Carmona's most emblematic monuments and a living testament to its ancient history. It formed part of the walled enclosure and the route of the Via Augusta, connecting Carmona with Cordoba. Its function was more propagandistic than defensive, conceived as a triumphal arch to symbolize the power and prosperity of the Roman Empire.

The Via Verde de la Sierra is a beautiful green route in Andalusia that starts in Puerto Serrano and ends in Olvera. This 36-kilometre route follows an old railway line that was built in the early 20th century between Jerez de la Frontera and Almargen. The route offers a unique combination of beautiful nature and historical sights, including the impressive Sierra de Cádiz and a large colony of Griffon Vultures. The route is ideal for both walking and cycling and passes through several tunnels and viaducts, making it a unique experience. Along the way you will pass through smaller villages and peaceful landscapes, making it perfect for a relaxing adventure in nature.

The place itself is not that special. The bullfighting arena is interesting because of the recordings made here for the TV series Game of Thrones. Unfortunately we couldn't go inside. We don't know why, very stiff, unfriendly people at the checkout.

Too bad, the lake is completely fenced in and can only be entered via the canoe club. All around only fields and country lanes...
