From the cycle path you have a beautiful view of Ellewoutsdijk, with the characteristic church tower and the vast polders in the background. The village is located on the Westerschelde, where you often see ships sailing by.

The Hoedekenskerke is an open area with low vegetation. Grassland and low-lying saline, barren parts alternate. This makes the area ideal for coastal, water and meadow birds. Waders and ducks fly from the Western Scheldt to this polder, mainly to rest. In the spring, shorebirds breed mainly in the barren salty areas; meadow birds prefer to breed on the grasslands. Beautiful water feature where water birds feel at home. Don't forget your binoculars and enjoy the scenery. Every season you have different protagonists here. It's up to you to recognize it.

Hoedekenskerke station was a station on the tram line Goes - Hoedekenskerke - Goes of the former Spoorweg-Maatschappij Zuid-Beveland in Hoedekenskerke in the province of Zeeland. Nowadays the station is the terminus for the Goes - Borsele steam train. The railcar continues to Halte Baarland. The platform, with a canopy of over 20 meters long, has a track on both sides, which gives the steam locomotive the opportunity to walk around. This is not possible at the Baarland stop, which is why the steam train ends here. The station is located next to the marina and behind the station is the Pluimweide. This park is all about trains, so there is a mini railway that children can take a ride on. There is also a dining facility. There are also a number of model railway layouts inside. The Western Scheldt can be seen just outside the station (from a dike). Source: Wikipedia Read the full story at https://martijnvanvulpen.nl/spoorzoeken/museumspoorlijn/stoomtrein-goes-borsele/
