A dream of a cathedral 🥰 you should definitely visit it at two different times of the day, as the glass windows look completely different depending on the position of the sun - phenomenal

Very beautiful church and the public toilets next to it are perfect, even for filling water bottles too large for the classic sinks.

The village has a Gothic style church. The latter is approximately 32 m long and 8.5 m wide. The church was renovated a few years ago and the eastern facade has recently been lit at night. According to the departmental archives of Eure-et-Loir, the general council granted a credit of 30,000 francs in 1851, in order to have “MM. the department's travel agents the nomenclature of churches, presbyteries and other municipal buildings, briefly containing their description, their condition, the indication and approximate evaluation of the work to be done and their degree of urgency.

The Church does not have a transept in its center. Made up of a nave, a bell tower, a heart and a sacristy, the church of Saint Germain le Gaillard was built more “modestly” than its neighbors. Having a stained glass rose window on the west portal, the warm colors of the sunsets pierce the glass to flood the heart of the Church with light. Seven large stained glass windows overlook the interior of the church. On one side we find: the Curé d’Ars; Saint Joseph ; the Child and Mary; Saint Pierre. On the other side Bernadette Soubirous; Jesus before the apostles Peter Jacques and John, Louis IX. But a bay remains, empty, filled by a sheet of Plexiglas. This is where the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist will take place. It is this last stained glass window that we will talk about next.

A few points make Chartres Cathedral so unique: - the total of 176 original windows, which were created between 1215 and 1240 and flood the church interior with lots of light - Particularly noteworthy are the 3 rosettes on the north, south and west sides, where you can study the further development of architecture over the decades - the cathedral was never significantly destroyed and thus gives a very good impression of the High Gothic period - with her relic she represented the center of Marian veneration in Europe. The resulting flow of pilgrims was a main source of income for Chartres
