The origin of this church is Romanesque, probably from the 12th century, but it underwent extensive reforms in the 17th and 19th centuries. From the original style, an intertwined cross on a ram is preserved on the presbytery wall, very typical of Romanesque iconography and bestiary. Inside there are two pairs of columns with claws at the corners. The church has a Latin cross plan, and its façade is presided over by a bell tower finished with a belfry with lateral pinnacles. Above the central door there is an image carved in stone of the patron saint, San Martiño.
