October 20, 2024, Doles Lane Byway and Wind Turbine View

The section from the bottom of the field after Morthern Lane, up to the Wind Turbines is very rutted, has loose stones & rocks, and a few inset timbers laid across the trail which are very slippy when wet πŸ‘

Lots of outdoor seating, some under cover, and plenty of inside seating too. Plenty of food and drinks, cakes and buns too. Good prices πŸ‘

Ulley Reservoir is a picturesque spot outside Sheffield ideal for a stroll in nature. There are walking paths, woodland and a clubhouse and cafe.

The cafe is not always open, pay for parking and remember they lock the gates

If riding from Sheffield, this is the first bit of 'proper' peace and quiet you get when heading East. Not many easy ways to get up here so the first views of the flatlands ahead are very welcome!

Do this toward rotherham(from upper whiston to whiston) for a delightful down hill gravel section. This also goes over the M1!
