So, I headed to Tortworth Lake in Jan, on a Monday. TOTALLY wrong time!! So, I took a wander in the woods nearby. It's really pretty, but I noted that Komoot didn't have a pathway. So, I'm adding this because it's worth an explore, especially if you plan on a walk round the lake & it's closed!

**PLEASE NOTE** Entrance to the Tortworth Lake / Estate grounds is ONLY available on the FIRST SUNDAY of each month from February to the end of October!! (I wish I'd known that before this mess of a hike. In January. On a Monday 🙈🤣). Opening times vary depending on the month, but it is only open on the first Sunday of each month. See photo here for the opening times (and a screenshot from the website). If you DO head here on a different day, the woodland nearby IS really stunning, so it is still worth a walk 🥰✨️

very muddy and full of puddles, some of them unavoidable and quite deep after rain.

Small bit of woodland, with a narrow path, so take care, especially if it is, or has been, wet. Beautiful bluebells in spring 💜. Leads through to a farm, which you can walk through, and has some VERY friendly sheep 😂

May 8, 2024, Sodam Mill

Just through the little woodland, there's a stile which leads to a bridge over the stream. The old mill is the other side of this bridge (depending which way you're coming). Then, there's Sodam Mill Lane to walk down, which is lovely in itself.

A stunning country lane, which is very narrow in places, fairly well surfaced and very quiet. Edit: Be warned... this road floods after significant rain... you can still do it if you don't mind getting wet feet!
