Road cycling around Churchill, Manitoba, is characterized by its unique subarctic landscape where the boreal forest meets the Arctic tundra and Hudson Bay. The terrain features glacier-sculpted boulders, shallow soils, and permafrost, which generally limit the development of extensive paved roads suitable for traditional road cycling. While the region is renowned for its wildlife and natural beauty, it is not considered a primary destination for road cycling due to its remote location and the nature of its roads.

Flat whites and flat tops. Simple little corner café and barber 💈 serving Extract Coffee from Bristol. Very handy and welcoming little stop to build into your ride if you're out this way 🙏🏽

Maybe this should be the Ebbor Gorge hill as the segment finishes at Wookey Hole but spends most of the time alongside Ebbor Gorge? Anyway, a long steady hill to climb or a fun descent but don't go too fast as the surface isn't great and the road is narrow. Stop at the car park near the top for great views over the Mendips. Or stop at Ebbor Gorge car park nearer the bottom, Ebbor Gorge is a great walk but not somewhere to take a road bike.

A very long and challenging climb, but it is never desperately steep, though that's a matter of opinion!
