We gladly visit this simply furnished cathedral again today, just like in 2019 on our first Camino. You can get the pilgrim stamp downstairs in the lower church (parish stamp) and all the way down to the left in the pilgrim office (cathedral stamp).

I like it much more on the inside than on the outside.

In the historic city center of Santander is the cathedral, which is likely the city's most famous structure. It was rebuilt after the two-day major fire in 1941 on the saved 12th-century crypt. The Gothic structure represents the city's landmark. It is significantly simpler than many other cathedrals in Spain, but it is precisely this fact that makes it very attractive for a visit. Among other things, the remains of Saints Emeterius and Celedonis can be seen in the Cathedral of Santander. They represent a sanctuary of the patron saints. The church is open daily for its guests. https://www.rundreisen.de/de/rundreisen/rundreisen-angebote/spanien-rundreisen/santander-kathedrale-von-santander.html

On November 7, 1926, the current Communications Palace was inaugurated, a work by the architects Zuazo and Fernandez Quintanilla, in the mountain regionalist style, offering postal and telegraph services. In the great fire of Santander in 1941, the post office building was spared even though it was located in the affected area at the time of the fire.

Church with a single nave and rectangular apse with side chapels connected by round arches, with a transept on which a large dome was built. The church was founded at the expense of Doña Magdalena de Ulloa, wife of Luis de Quijada, teacher of Don Juan of Austria. Opening hours: open during worship times

The lower church dates from the beginning of the 13th century and I really liked it. The upper church is from the 14th century and the cloister from the 15th century, but both have been heavily modified.
