Bowfell has got a great hikers' pedigree for a reason. It has a distinctive, pyramid-shaped peak, and at 902 metres (2,959 feet), it is England's sixth-highest mountain. It is noted for the great scramble that is the climber's traverse. From its rocky, boulder-strewn top you have sweeping panoramic views across to Scafell Pike and the Langdale valley.

Cold Pike is off the beaten track a little bit. It sits in between and just south of Pike of Blisco and Great Knott. The paths here are a little more indistinct, but this is still a 701-metre (2,300 ft) top, and as such, it is a designated Nuttall and Wainwright. It has a knobbly, rocky summit with a petite and finely perched cairn on it. It has fine panoramic views all the way round, but in particular towards Crinkle Crags, Bowfell and across towards the Langdale Pikes.

Pike of Blisco is a brilliant peak. It's got a craggy, rugged 705-metre summit and has commanding views down over the Langdale Valley. I came up from the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, up the famous steps, but you can also get to it from Wrynose Pass. It has a little summit cairn on the craggy mounds at the top.

Lingmoor Fell is a 469-meter (1,540-foot) Wainwright near Blea Tarn. If you are coming up from there, it is a good stiff climb of over 200 metres, but the views are worth it. The views out over Blea Tarn and the Langdale valley are super nice. The Langdale Pikes, in particular, look magnificent from here.
