The Protestant cemetery dates from 1848 and was the first cemetery to be established 6 years after Königsbrunn was founded. Even after the town was recognized as a municipality in 1842, the Protestants among them continued to belong to the parish of St. Ulrich and Afra in Augsburg, and their dead were buried in the Protestant cemetery on Haunstetter Strasse, about 15 kilometers away.
